Thing-a-Week 31: DRAWing from life

Today is Edmonton’s annual DRAW Festival, an all-day event dedicated to art, put on by the coolest of the city’s galleries and artist-run centres. This afternoon, Harcourt House hosted open-house life drawing with a couple of models doing various poses for us aspiring artists. This time last year was the first time I had ever done studio life drawing, so I went in looking forward to comparing my work from this year to last.
What a difference a year can make.

Perfect? Not quite. But there’s definitely something to that “practice makes perfect” thing.
Last week, Caitlin posted some more delicious cupcake paintings. I can’t love these enough. I’m jumping the gun this week, so you’ll have to wait another day or two to see what she’s come up with for this week’s entry. But why not bookmark her blog anyway?
